WHO IS THE REAL ENEMY?
One can look around at all the things going on in our world and quite easily become very overwhelmed and grieved. With the rise of isis, racism, murders, abortion, child abuse, perversion and the list goes on and on, it’s evident the world is becoming darker and darker. On June 26, 2015 same-sex marriage was legalized across the nation of the United States of America. I watched as social media exploded with responses to this decision. Some were ecstatic over the decision, changing their profile pictures to rainbows. Some were impartial, not really caring either way. Then others, Christians, which comprises a good majority of my Facebook friends list were utterly outraged. Admittedly, I too was one of them although the anger was short lived. A Christian reading this may ask why my anger was short lived and declare that if I am truly a Christian then I should be livid and stand my ground against these sinful people and their agenda.
My stance is and always will be one of righteousness and holiness based on the word of God. I believe that marriage is defined as one man and one woman. I believe that homosexuality is a sin based on several scriptures in the Bible 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Roman 1:26-28, Leviticus 20:13, 1 Timothy 1:10, Jude 1:7 plus many more I believe that the decision made is one that is incredibly wrong, incredibly immoral and goes against everything I stand for. Anyone that knows me is well aware that I stand for the true Word of God and abhor compromise. Now that I have made it clear that I am a radical Christian who disagrees with the homosexual lifestyle and agenda let me explain why I am not angry about the Supreme Court ruling.
My first response is this, to put it blatantly, birds sing, fish swim and sinners SIN. God warned us that the end times would get darker than ever before. He warned us that men would be lovers of themselves. He warned us that the enemy would deceive many. He warned us that times of great wickedness were coming. Guess what? They are here. What did we expect? The enemy knows his time is shortening so he is coming full force with everything he has. God specifically tells us in his Word to not worry or let these things trouble us. I am not shocked that a government that was never really for God in the first place made a decision such as this one. When we look over history we can see that even when Jesus was on this earth the government was not on the “good guy’s” side.
When Jesus was put before Pontius Pilate and Herod Antipas the truth is that neither one of them could find anything in particular that was wrong with Jesus. They couldn’t come up with anything substantial to charge Jesus with. They passed the buck for a while which is typical government behavior and then in the end they were swayed by the majority even though Jesus had done no wrong. The government has alway exhibited Godless and spineless behavior to appease the people and the majority. Notice though, beforehand, that while the soldiers seized Jesus leading to Peter cutting one of the soldier’s ears off that Jesus said He could have stopped everything but because the crucifixion had to happen he allowed the events to transpire no matter how dark it got and even to his death. Throughout it all until the day of resurrection he didn’t rise up against the government. He didn’t become angry and outraged at their Godless behavior. He didn’t hate them. He loved them even as he died nailed to a cross.
See Jesus understood, it wasn’t the people that truly wanted to take him out. It was satan who wanted to destroy him and he was simply using the people. He died for the very ones who beat and killed him. He understood that all this had to transpire, no matter how dark and painful, for the resurrection to happen. He understood that prophecy had to be activated and that souls were at stake if it didn’t. This is what we have to realize. All the darkness and evil taking place has to transpire to bring us closer to Jesus parting the clouds and taking us home to eternity. In the meantime we cannot be distracted by what is going terribly wrong in our world. We have to be focused on the fact that there are millions of people going to hell if we don’t truly become the light of the world and the salt of the earth and show the love of Jesus.
Homosexuals are lost. Many of them are broken, just like heterosexuals. We have to bring the truth to a lost and dying world in love. Love does not equal tolerance but it does mean patience and sometimes being quiet with our own emotions and feelings. Bashing the government, screaming how wrong they are along with arguing with pro gay people or homosexuals is futile and is equal to “beating a dead horse”. It goes nowhere. We know the government is corrupt. We know homosexuality is wrong but it’s not going away. We have to seek God about how to save the people. How to love them in truth. How to be an even brighter light than ever before without compromising. We have to live righteous and holy in an unholy world This is a time for strategy, prayer, fasting, reading our word, and seeking GOD like never before. According to the word things are going to get even worse and we have to prepare ourselves because the lost needs us. Our enemy is not the government, not the sinner, not the homosexual. The Bible says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, darkness, etc…. We need to choose our battle plan wisely AND seek God's strategy because satan is our true enemy, not the people.
